Super painful, long story short….the newest and youngest addition to our family, Pixie, was put to sleep yesterday morning after she was diagnosed with the fatal FIP virus. While we had a couple days to cry, say goodbyes and be with her, it was incredibly heartbreaking, especially after losing Pooter less than 2 months ago. We are angry. And upset. And confused. And mostly, lost. But we are happy to have had Pixie in our family and know that we had no other option than to put her down, as FIP has no treatment options. She will always be loved by us and we will always be thankful to have known her. She was the sweetest, most loving kitty we could have ever asked for.
But alas, even I have to take time away from what feels like eternal sadness and depression. And so I thank God (or whoever) for our amazing friends who have gone to great lengths to cheer us up, be it, with beautiful flowers shipped to our home or amazing pictures like this one that came with the caption”Oh you know, just hanging a hula hoop casually off my backside. My dream is realized!” I love you, dear friends, who always know how to make me smile.
